West Park Village
The staff here are great. I live on the North side of the property and have quick access to the gym, one of two pools, and a jacuzzi. The landscaping is beautiful. The only real downsides I can think of are the price of laundry, and parking can be a little tight depending on which lot you're in.
Good management, location, and atmosphere, but with older buildings and frequent construction
PROS: The front office is friendly and generally responsive. Getting maintenance done has been quick as well, and there's an online portal you can request from, which is convenient. I like how there are many plants in the complex, and it's gated with a security guard at night. The gym is very small, but relatively clean and new compared to what I've seen around the area. They also have a working stairmaster which is unheard of.
CONS: They've had a new construction project almost every month I've been here with noise at varying times (the complex is big so it may vary). Because of the plants, a maintenance person is behind my unit (where my ground-level windows face) with a leaf blower almost every day around 9 am—it feels like an invasion of privacy and is quite loud. After moving in, I noticed the apartment is highly prone to ants. I've also seen silverfish. The walls are thin and the doors are especially bad at insulating sound. I can hear my neighbor's TV, and it's very clear when my neighbor leaves and slams his door on the way out. Although floors are new, you can tell the construction is definitely old, but it's not the worst for LA. There's no central A/C so they only have portable or window units. Central heating is the old gas-based kind. If you have multiple cars or don't pay for parking, street parking can be difficult.
Solid, quiet complex in walkable area
The complex is quiet, not terribly large, despite the significant number of studios, gated with dedicated parking, and nice neighbors. The management is responsive to issues with maintenance or neighbors not abiding by the rules. They also host community events roughly once per month to allow for you to meet your neighbors and the staff.
Solid, quiet residence in walkable, safe neighborhood
Rancho Los Feliz is a larger complex that doesn’t feel like one. Residents are friendly and welcoming. There is a mix of studio, 1bd/1br, and 2bd/2br apartments that are within a range of $1800-$4000 per month. Parking is gated and assigned with covered and uncovered options. The neighborhood is walkable with great coffee shops, restaurants, and bars nearby. Access to grocery stores, gyms, shopping, and I5 is easily available.
Casa Granada
While the building is from the 70's, management has been renovating it year after year.
It is rent controlled, so I don't have to think about price increases. Plus, there are multiple lease options from 3-12 months.
The property has a wide range of tenants - from students to families. The ammenities include the swimming pool which is open yearround, gym and sauna.
I've never had to wait for more than an hour for maintenance to come fix anything. (I've been living in the property for 2 years).
One downside in my opinion is that laundry cannot be in unit - but that is not rare in LA.
West Park Village Review
West Park Village
West Park Village
Good price in a rent-controlled unit. Lots of greenery around the complex, with two pools and a hot tub. Package lockers help to keep packages safe, there is a gym, and every unit has either a patio or balcony. Pet-friendly, quiet, and a 10-15 minute drive from campus. A great place to live.

Good, but pricey
West Park Review
Great location. 10 min drive to school. 15 min drive to the beach. Bars and restaurants walking distance. Apartment complex very quiet. If you're looking to host big parties, etc., not the best complex for it. People will complain.
Good
Brentwood is a nice, safe area. Casa Granada is a solid apartment building with nice amenities, walking distance to the shopping/eating square in town, and running/biking distance to the Santa Monica Pier.
West Park Village
The property itself is beautiful. Two pools, interior courtyards with lots of greenery. Apartments are renovated and come with a patio/balcony.
good location but personally not worth the money
Parking is $50 monthly, old building so had a lot of issues with getting my wireless internet set up also older so the oven barely works and there is not dishwasher, you can find a lot more by going towards Korea town at a similar price
Great experience overall, crowded street
It has been a good experience overall. There are multiple pools, and a small gym in the complex, which is very convenient. I appreciate that management is on site and available 7 days a week. Our unit doesn't have air conditioning, but I heard some of the newer ones do. One of the biggest downsides is that our street (Butler) gets really congested during rush hour.
West Park Village 1 bedroom
Great location, responsive management during office hours. Outside of office hours, you may have to call a locksmith if you get locked out, as manafemebt won’t respond.
Casa Granada
Casa Granada is conveniently located in Brentwood. Management is very responsive to any needs, and the pool is a nice perk.
