West Park Village

Good price in a rent-controlled unit. Lots of greenery around the complex, with two pools and a hot tub. Package lockers help to keep packages safe, there is a gym, and every unit has either a patio or balcony. Pet-friendly, quiet, and a 10-15 minute drive from campus. A great place to live.

West Park Review

Great location. 10 min drive to school. 15 min drive to the beach. Bars and restaurants walking distance. Apartment complex very quiet. If you're looking to host big parties, etc., not the best complex for it. People will complain.

The property itself is beautiful. Two pools, interior courtyards with lots of greenery. Apartments are renovated and come with a patio/balcony.

Great experience overall, crowded street

It has been a good experience overall. There are multiple pools, and a small gym in the complex, which is very convenient. I appreciate that management is on site and available 7 days a week. Our unit doesn't have air conditioning, but I heard some of the newer ones do. One of the biggest downsides is that our street (Butler) gets really congested during rush hour.

West Park Village 1 bedroom

Great location, responsive management during office hours. Outside of office hours, you may have to call a locksmith if you get locked out, as manafemebt won’t respond.

West Park Village

My overall experience has been very good with the apartment. Specifically, management is accessible and on-site 7 days a week, and very responsive to work orders. It's located close to campus and other conveniences, but not in the heart of Westwood where many undergraduates live. There are pools and a hot tub on the premise, as well as a small gym.

Love living at West Park Village

Location? Couldn't be better. Management? Great folks.
Only downside is I don't have AC or washer/drier in the unit

Great pool, amazing management, and awesome location

I'm surprised there aren't more students living here. The management here is the best I've ever experienced - they fix things promptly and are extremely friendly. They also accept all packages to be signed for and email you when they arrive. There's a couple pools that are never crowded and a small gym. My apartment is fine - no air conditioning and nothing fancy, but it does the trick. For the price, amenities, and excellent management here, I think this is an extremely good place for couples or single students to live.

Great Value

Place itself is okay - no air conditioning and a pretty old building, but the grounds are awesome and the management is very friendly and attentive. For a one bedroom in the area with a pool, this was an exceptional value and very happy with it.

Sawtelle Reviews

88 reviews
Centrally located in West La. Close to Brentwood, Santa Monica, Westwood, Sawtelle, Culver.

A decent amount of homeless people but not at the Venice level.
Many Anderson and UCLA students around so never a dull moment. The area feels comfortable even at night. All of the worthy restaurants are on Sawtelle blvd which is great if you appreciate ramen. You will most likely branch out for more to do but it provides great proximity to UCLA and everywhere else
Probably most popular place for food in the west la area. Ramen, Japanese food, and dessert alley. Bit pricey but since it's upscale and popular, it feels safe at night. Close enough to school if you drive. Lots of students live in the area, but you'll need to uber to meet them or meet them at the restaurants.
Within a few blocks walking to the primary bars that Anderson events are held at. The neighborhood is fairly residential and quiet, but not too far from some good restaurants and bars in Brentwood and Santa Monica. The great thing is that so many classmates tend to live nearby. Less than 3 miles from the ocean at Santa Monica.
25 minutes driving to school in rush traffic. 15 minutes otherwise. Neighborhood is quiet and safe, but a range of bars, shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. are within walking and short driving/uber range. Bus and metro stops are both fairly close. Easy highway access to both the 405 and the 10. Price range is cheaper than Brentwood or Santa Monica.
Pros:
- Close drive to UCLA campus w/ easy access to 405
- Can pick up #1 bus from Santa Monica and Sawtelle bus to UCLA
- Given the area, street parking is not too difficult to find
- Easy walk to Sawtelle for food
- Rent is reasonable given the area
- Small complex with only 12 units so there's not too much noise
- Management is very responsive

Cons:
- Non-master bedrooms are pretty small and one of them has a stand-up shower (not a bathtub)
- Appliances and apartment doesn't feel very "modern" (though everything works)
Lots of good Asian restaurants and convenient grocery stores.
Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Lots of other Anderson students within a mile radius. Quick drive to school (13-15min almost always). In-between Santa Monica Blvd and Wilshire so there are lots of bus options if you won't have a car.
