Okay Apartments

Decent apartments, cheaper then other locations; however, there have been issues with mice in some apartments. Close to campus and near many stores. Not too many amenities and often small apartments.

I've LOVED my apt bc even though I'm a little farther from school, I have plenty of space and natural light for a great price.

Park Georgetown Review

Management is great, house size is good. However area is quite secluded, far from a convenience store and could become very quiet. Many students from Georgetown stay here given the lower rent so it grows on you once you make some friends.

Good apartment if you aren’t looking for too many amenities. In the cheaper side compared to other complexes but not run down. There are issues with the elevators I have seen cockroaches and mice on the 8th floor. However, maintenance is normally quick to respond.

Great for what you pay for

8 management rating Reviewed by on

The apartment is awesome for what you pay for - its closer to DC and Georgetown's campus. It also is a pretty cozy apartment for two people, where we can maintain an office and comfortable living space for two. Finally, two cars are built into the rent, which is a huge saving and is probably worth ~$300+.

All of that said, the place is small and dated - retrofitted from former army barracks. The place also is a bit lacking in amenities, with both in-unit washer/dryer and a pool not available on the property. Overall, its a great place to live as a student, but isn't as nice as other options in the area.

Solid Apartment for the Price

6 management rating Reviewed by on

Columbia Uptown has pretty good amenities for the price. Parking is available for a fee and it is pet friendly. Includes on-site laundry and a gym. The building is pretty secure (you have to swipe in for entry). Overall, the building itself is quiet although there are families with kids that sometimes make noise in the halls. The units themselves are quite small but have a lot of storage. Ours has a dishwasher and stainless steel appliances.

The apartment is right off the Green/Yellow and the 52/54 bus stop. I use the bus to get to GW and overall it's pretty reliable.

Love it

I have a 20 min commute to campus (during non-covid times). My apartment is quiet and suburban. I have lots of trees and running trails in my neighborhood.

Been better since moving into a 2BR

4 management rating Reviewed by on

When we first moved into Park Georgetown, my girlfriend and I selected a 1 BR which was not a great experience. Way too small to have two people working from home. However, since moving to the 2BR we have been much happier with space for an office and a generally larger space.

Moving to the back of the complex has been a major improvement as well, as the front half faces a major highway and is very loud. We also get a lot of plane traffic as the complex is in the landing route for DCA.

The management is relatively poor, needing to rely on the property manager for facts and moving issues forward. Think there are two many people in the complex for the management too effectively manage.

PG review

Management (JR) is great but above all location is super convenient for everything but downtown social events... and even for that, the metro is close. Not one of the spiffier apartments from a human amenities perspective but it is quiet and friendly, and the trails behind it are nice for some green space. Easy walk across the bridge to campus or M street

It’s sufficient

8 management rating Reviewed by on

It was very clean when I moved in, great location, and about a mile away from school. It’s not a bad walk. If you care about location and reliably good conditions, it’s great for the price point (I have a roommate in a 2br so my rent is $1212). There’s a good amount of living space.

The surrounding area has a lot to offer in terms of dining, the metro (5min walk), big retailers like Target and Bed Bath Beyond (5-8 min walk), and a really nice large park. However, there is quite frequent violent crime in the street right across. I’ve never had a problem but I feel the need to be cautious. The apartment building is fine, the gym is very basic and I’ve gotten packages stolen twice.

Personally I would invest in a nicer apartment especially if I knew I would be at home almost all the time. But this is still a decent place w affordable rent in a great location.

Great place to live

10 management rating Reviewed by on

I enjoy living here. The area is close enough to school that I can walk 20 min or I can take the shuttle or I can take the metro. Sometimes it feels unsafe because there's shootings that happen down the street, and sometimes I can hear people yelling outside at 4 am in the morning. But other than the surrounding environment the facility is great. So nice to have a gym downstairs

Overall a good place to live, easy access to DC via metro, bus, or walking. The buildings are on the older side but management and maintenance is responsive.
