Practical, well located

The apartments are not brand new but still are practical, fully equipped and well located. The size of my room is pretty OK.

Pest issues

Overall a good apartment. Located in first floor with poor sunlight. The main issue we had regarded mice. We saw them in various opportunities and although management responded with traps, they only checked to see if there was a bigger issue when my husband had a big argument with management.

Everything you need in an excellent location

We live in a sunny & spacious studio apartment. The noise from Broadway is annoying and the arm chairs are really uncomfortable - so the lounge part is not great but the desk is huge & really functional. Kitchen is tiny but you get used to it & at least the fridge/freezer is big. Laundry & printing services in the building are so helpful & maintenance issues are addressed straight away.

The Trade-Off

I'm a 2L in NYU Housing in Hayden Hall. Basically, I would recommend Hayden (not D'Ag) if you're willing to make the trade-off for convenience for price. It's considerably more expensive than living with roommates further afield off campus (in Brooklyn, for example) but it is light-years more convenient than Brooklyn. You will never be late for an exam because of the subway (yes, this has happened to someone I know). On the other hand, if you want to minimize your debt, Hayden is not the place to do it. It's also very quiet, there's a front desk so you don't have to worry about missing packages, and certain other amenities. Also, for NYC apartments, the 2 bedrooms have very comfortably sized bedrooms and kitchens.

"One of the best values for this location"

The location is the best reason for this apt building. Soho is within 10 min's walk. The facility is clean and safe. It's quiet. There's 24-hour doorman. There's a game room and lounge. The price is good for this location. It is well-maintained too. There's a fix service request for when you have a problem with anything. And, it would be fixed within a day. No pets, though.

NYU is an awesome landlord....

If you're a JD/MBA, as I am, housing really doesn't get any better than the Mercer residence. It's hard to imagine living any place that's better, so if you can afford the rent here and don't mind being so close to school (some people like being able to "get away" on the weekends) it's totally worth it.

NYU residence

Rooms are a little bit old, but they are big. The building is crowded with students, so it is great to network and party.
It is also superclose to the NYU (2min to Stern).
Moreover, they are going to renovate some bedrooms!

I love this part of town. It’s bustling & vibrant with heaps of restaurants, bars, cheap eats & Washington Square park which is so beautiful and so much going on - artists, musicians etc. Close to the classy & beautiful West Village on one side and the fun, young East Village on the other. Easy to get everywhere on the subway & not too far from either the Hudson River or the East River.
Close to campus, very safe area, but also very busy! Union Square can be hectic at times, with lots of people ALWAYS around. Make sure your apartment has thick windows, or doesn't face the street...

Near to multiple major grocery stores (Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, other various), as well as a thousand restaurants, bars and fast food places. Multiple gym chains in the area, from NYSC and Planet Fitness to Equinox. Close to all amenities, including dry cleaning and shoe repair, shopping.
Nice neighborhood. Good restaurants and bars around. They can be pretty pricey. Make sure to check the ratings to make sure you get what you pay for! We live very close to a grocery store. There are a lot of metro stations nearby and it is easy to walk to school.
I like the atmosphere of Greenwich Village (and Washington Square Park), the proximity to school, and that it doesn't have skyscrapers like other parts of town. There are always new restaurants to try and new things to do.
It's a fun neighborhood with lots to do. Everything is a few steps away. The metro is also super close by. I really like the neighborhood. The only thing is it will get loud at night.
Great location especially if you want to check out NYC's top restaurants & bars. Also close to several subway stations so commuting is pretty convenient
Extremely convenient -- Walkable to many transit lines (B/D/F/M, 6, 1, A/C/E, N/Q/R); Walkable to West Village, Soho, East Village, Union Square
Awesome food and beverage options, easy transport, good shopping, close proximity to NYU (a pro for some, a con for others).
