A+ Location

You can't beat this location - 8 mins walking from the law school. The complex is quiet and the apartments are mostly rented by graduate students and young couples. The building is pet friendly and parking can be purchased for an additional fee. The apartments are spacious, with high ceilings on the top floor. The biggest downside is cost, as these apartments are pricier than several nearby alternatives, but the apartments are clean and well-maintained.

Quiet place!

I really enjoy living here! It is quiet and close to the law school. It is also by a lot of food places like Chipotle and Blaze Pizza.

Nice, But Overpriced

Management team at the building is very helpful and responsive, and they take the time to get to know you personally. The building has multiple measures to ensure safety and security. Building is also easily accessible for those with various disabilities. The location is convenient to campus, but overpriced compared to surrounding properties. Building is quiet and residents are mostly grad students, professors, and young professionals. Pet friendly.

Old Quaker

Excellent location, very convenient to the hospital (12-15-min walk), w/ a gym and parking (I pay extra for this, however). It is quite expensive for living alone, but a beautiful and spacious apartment. Socially difficult because most people live in Center City, so not amenable to getting together outside of work. Quite an old building, so there are occasional maintenance and pest (insect) issues. Overall a nice, if expensive, apartment.

Great Leasing Office + Nice Gym

Lived in Old Quaker for 4 years. Great leasing office which will hold packages. Includes a small gym with weights and treadmills near the office. Very responsive to any repairs/work orders. In unit washer and dryer. Includes a free storage unit in the basement. Close 15min walk to the hospitals for work.

Decent Size

For a studio my apartment is a decent size. I also have a good amount of closet space. The apartments have big windows that allow the afternoon sun to come it. I also have a dishwasher and a washer and dryer in my apartment. The building also has a small gym that residents can use for free 24/7.

Frequently overlooked option in University City

The Old Quaker Building is a great option only minutes from Wharton. Most Wharton students decide to live closer to Rittenhouse but I've found living in University City has been incredibly convenient and there is a lot more to do in University City than I expected. The apartment has been recently renovated and the surrounding location feels safe and quiet. There are some basic amenities like a small gym and I pay a couple of hundred dollars less than most of my classmates who live in comparable apartments near Rittenhouse.

Old Quaker

This a quaint and classy building with a small gym and friendly staff. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's worth the beautiful kitchen and bathroom, three closets, and washer/dryer in the unit. The building is set back from the street, so there is not much outside noise, and the landlord has a noise policy that keeps the building quiet from the inside. Parking is available, but expensive at $130 per month. It is the ideal location, only 4 blocks from campus and across the street from several good restaurants. There is also a small courtyard with picnic tables and charcoal grills, so you can get out in nature in the warm weather!

A pleasant experience with only a few minor gripes

The Old Quaker is a quiet building, so it's perfect if you, like me, can't study that well in a library. The ceilings are very high in each apartment, and you can hear the people you live above you walking about (but you can't hear talking, which is good). I've never had an issue with any of the appliances, and the old maintenance guy was very responsive. The building recently hired a new maintenance person, however, and I have yet to have any issues, so I can't speak about him. Management says they're in the office from 9-5, but this is NEVER the case. The building's manager, Anita, usually arrives at 1 and leaves by 5 every day. This makes picking up a package especially difficult if you work or have class all day. However, if you email her and ask her to leave your package outside the office, she always does so. So this isn't that big of a gripe. The building allows small dogs and cats. It also has a small gym--two treadmills and dumbbells up to 50 lbs. It makes for a nice, quick workout when the weather is too poor to get to your usual gym.

University City feels very safe with so many students living in the area as well as the added presence of University security. There are plenty of restaurants and easy access to basic necessities (e.g. grocery store, pharmacy). I really like it because it makes getting to work super convenient and street parking is much more available for visitors (or if you're like me and occasionally borrow your parents' car) compared to other areas of the city. It is also very close to the Schuylkill River Trail for walking/running/biking, is a quick walk into Center City, and gives you easy access to a variety of public transportation as well as major highways.
I love living in this neighborhood! There are a few parks nearby, and there's all kinds of great food places. I definitely try to be cautious and aware of my surroundings, but overall I feel very safe where I live. I love that I can easily walk to school and that the SEPTA trolley lines go right past my house- easy to get to center city for internships, etc.

Lately it has gotten a little noisy at night on my street, but otherwise I have few complaints about the neighborhood.
Living along Baltimore Ave is great - tons of small shops, restaurants, and bars. It's also really easy to get to school or center city on the trolleys. Neighborhood has all the city amenities but is way cheaper and quieter than center city.
I am in UCity, right across the street from the law school. It's quiet but it is kind of far from rittenhouse and center city. There are only a few restaurants and bars around here, but its a short uber into the city.
University City is a bustling college town with plenty of bars, restaurants and nightlife. You don't need to go far to find whatever is you're looking for.
For Penn students, the location is perfect, less than a five minute walk to school. There are bars, food, etc though center city offers more options.
Very close to university and law school. Good fast food options. A bit far from downtown
Nice and clean, seemingly safe, not much to do in the area though
