Great Location

Stanwix Apartments is located just a few blocks away from the Point and Market Square. This provides for plenty if entertainment and good food. It's also located to several entrance and exit ramps so it's easy to slip in and out of the city. My personal favorite is that Stanwix Apartments is just a 20 minute walk from campus.

I really love living here

Updated kitchen, hardwood floors in common area & carpeted bedroom floors. Perfect sized space for someone living alone. I really never hear neighbors and only sometimes hear what's going on outside. If maintenance is needed, you almost always have whatever you need fixed within a day or two. It's also a secure building at night. Plus you have an in-unit washer/dryer.

Downtown Apartment

I really like the location of my apartment! It's within walking distance of the university, all the firms downtown, and there is a park a block away that I take my dog to every day! The apartment complex has a mix of college students, young professionals, and a few families/retirees. I feel safe living there and have access to everything downtown Pittsburgh has to offer.

Livable, decent pricing for downtown

Updated appliances & hardwood floors in hallway/living room. Crappy carpeting in bedrooms. In unit laundry. HVAC. “Gym” on top floor with standard old machines & some free weights. #1 complaint is that smoking is allowed, so my room often smells like weed/cigarettes. But that might not be true in every unit. Utilities include water, electric/gas. With me and my roommate, it’s approx $250/month, sometimes more or less depending on weather. You’ll have to pay for a parking garage, and there are a bunch near the apt, but the monthly expense is approx $200/month. Would have to purchase internet and/or cable. Location across from Market Square & down the road from a T station. 10-15 min walk to campus.

More Expensive, but Worth It

Very spacious apartments, 201 Stanwix has both 1 and 2-bedroom models. So many closets, and good cabinet space throughout the kitchen. Quiet, close to market square and downtown Target. Gym on the 12th floor, and locked package room in the lobby.

Downtown Reviews

The downtown area is an area that is very easy to get public transportation. I didn't have to wait long to get the bus, so I was able to time it properly to get to campus. The problem here is that there are some homeless people who sometimes ask us for money, then another thing is that on weekend nights it is noisy outside the apartment because many people spend time around downtown at night.
The location is great; you can walk downtown and get to Market Square within 10 minutes. The T is also next door, so that is very convenient. However, over the past year, with the increased homeless population, the area is not safe anymore. Downtown has also gotten dirtier over the past year.
Right across the street from market square, down the road from a T station, a block away from the point. There is a church across the street that assists with unhoused people, but they never bother anyone.
Being on fifth and Forbes is not the cutest as compared to the cultural district but everything is within a 20 minute walk for restaurants and Ubers can get you anywhere within ten minutes.
Much safer than the news likes to say… i’ve never felt unsafe walking downtown day nor night. Just don’t walk down Smithfield at wee hours of the night and you will be great!
Downtown is a convenient place to live in relation to the school. The walk from the building to the school is less than 15 minutes.
In the middle of downtown. Close to some great restaurants and bars. About a 10 min walk to the Oakland-bound buses
The neighborhood seems to be very good. There are plenty of restaurants and it is close to campus.
