Grad hospital is a great place to live because it is cheap, close to Center City, to close school, and right by the Schukyll River Trail. It also has a great social scene due to great bars/restaurants and because so many medical students live there.
The majority of medical students in my class live in Graduate Hospital. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to campus depending on your exact address. There are many good restaurants and some great dessert places and coffee shops too. It is less than a 10 minute walk to the dog park and outdoor basketball courts at Schuylkill Park. One of the cons is that the closest grocery store is one of the more expensive ones.
I love in living graduate hospital. It's got great housing at affordable prices, it's a pleasant neighborhood and is quieter (and cheaper) then center city but the whole city is still very accessible. There are lots of families as well as people in there 20s in the neighborhood. There are bars and restaurants in the neighborhood and in easy walking distance. There is easy parking. The biggest downside is unless you have a bike (which i would highly recommend) you have to rely on the bus system which can be unreliable.
The Graduate Hospital area is up and coming and a great spot. It's close enough to Rittenhouse's restaurants but also has it's own set of restaurants. It's full of young professionals, especially medical folks. It's very family friendly. It's close to the South Street Bridge, which I feel is a safer/easier bridge to bike/walk across to University City.
Very quiet neighborhood with a lot of families. Very close to grocery markets and convenience stores/pharmacies. Lots of grade schools and parks all around.

It is a bit of a hike into center city (20-25 minute walk to Broad and Walnut), but I barely notice anymore after walking to school every day.
I enjoy living in graduate hospital near friends and a few places I like but with easy access to essentially the rest of the city. It's nice to see families and dogs out and about
We have great neighbors on a quiet street just removed enough from the noise but not too far that you'd have to uber to get to where the fun is. Grad hospital is a pretty common place for medical students to live given its accessible location and lower rent costs.
Close to public transportation, about a 30 minute walk to HUP and Pennsy. Close to some great restaurants in Center City and on South Street. There is a Whole Foods within walking distance. Easy to get to the Schuylkill River trail. Very safe neighborhood.
