You're better off in Section 8 housing

I have lived here for 5 years and was finally able to move out recently. It has been the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. The administrative staff is rude and predatory. They used to be high quality and cared about their residents, but that all changed after another company bought the complex. They fired the entire staff and hired a bunch of shills who work for cheap. The new staff barely know what they are doing and rarely even answer the resident line. Their only concern is conning poor prospective residents like you into living here. Our mailboxes have been broken into and robbed at least 6 times during the time I have lived here. Residents who have lived here longer than me have told me it happens at least once a year for the past decade or more. Several of the buildings have a roach infestation. The gates are always broken. The trash compactor is always broken, which means trash will often be spilling over into the street. They don't recycle. They will try to make up arbitrary fines that are not in the lease (and very illegal). You can pay extra rent to live in a smoking building, but you are not allowed to smoke in or around the building. They are implementing a new parking system which will result in normal residents having their cars booted until they pay outrageous fines. Even though they're following the terms of their lease. This is all illegal as well as none of it matches what is agreed to in your lease. This new system is being implemented because it is cheaper for them than their previous service. They are increasing your fees to pay for this cheaper service. They claim this new system was discussed and requested by residents at the "town hall" meetings. They will send you 10 emails a week about food trucks and yoga, but you will never ever be notified about these meetings. The pool is a biohazard and regularly has to be closed due to toxicity levels. Pretty much the ONLY redeeming quality of this place is that their maintenance team is top notch. Unfortunately though that maintenance team has been understaffed the entire time I have lived here. Also the best of the best on that team never seem to stick around long before finding a better place to work. I have had a better living experience living in Section 8 housing. You should live just about anywhere but here.
