About North Campus
This part of campus has plenty of places to eat, drink, and socialize without ever needing to stray too far from university life. Some restaurants people enjoy include the Gandy Dancer for seafood lovers, the Northside Grill, which is a casual place serving American fare for breakfast and lunch, The...

I have lived in A2 for going on 14 years, it is sort of like having a friend, even when you are alone.
Me and a friend and her dog visit neighborhood parks.
That dog met the caged bald eagle at Leslie Science Center.. and twang!
To the end of his leash! The eagle looked at him like he was the most delicious thing he's seen all Winter. We just trudged thru the snow to view the cages, (both eagle and dog are ok)

Great quieter area very close to the hospital, and close to many other med students. It’s a more peaceful area that’s a tad farther from downtown, but for someone who likes a quieter space to study or nice spaces to walk and hang out with friends, white coat area is right by the river and Island Drive Park, and there are often med student social events held at White Coat Area because so many medical students choose to live here.
Family community with adults who have jobs and careers. Many parks and green spaces, great for barbecues and outdoor exercise. A number of accessible bus routes and quick easy access to the freeway to get out of town.
A great distance from the hospital/Taubman Library. Very close to trails along the river. Relatively quiet, although there has been quite a bit of construction as of late. Besides the hospital though, there are not many places you can go to in close walking distance. For example, central campus and Kerrytown are ~20 minutes walking, and although you could bus to grocery stores on Plymouth Rd, having a car makes things much easier.
Quiet, still engaged with campus life but removed enough to have some peace. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance or 5 min drives.
I never feel unsafe. We are on a big piece of property and only residents and visitors are on our property.
As a UMICH student it is not exactly near central campus, but it's still a good apartment complex to be at. It's not difficult to uber or catch a ride from one of my friends. There are some nice food places across the street and it's an easy walk away from Kerrytown! It's definitely easier to be a student here during the pandemic.
There is not much to do in the neighborhood but there is easy access to central campus from Beekman
