Reveiw

River lofts is great if you like the vintage feel. Has exposed brick and high ceilings to make for a bright and unique apartment. Walking distance to great things. But the train is loud and the high ceilings make it difficult to heat and cool the apartment

Great value apartments in downtown

The apartments are really nice and cheap, but they are downtown. There is a grocery store across the street, and some restaurants near by.
Haven't had any troubles with neighbors or management yet. There is parking for $30 a month. Amenities are really nice: 2 pools, hot tub, 2 gyms, movie theater, grills, courtyards. It's walking distance to some good bars downtown. The only con is it's a 10 minute drive into the fan.

Good Place to Live

It is a great location and a social place during the summer months when residents can access the pools.

Getting around Shockoe Bottom

Shockoe Bottom Reviews

8 reviews
Shockoe Bottom has a decent restaurant/bar scene as well as some clubs. It's close to downtown so if you're working there it's a good option. Rent is getting steeper as more investment is made in the surrounding communities so that's worth watching. There's only one (overpriced) grocery store nearby and public transportation leaves a lot to be desired but that's supposedly changing. The area has a ton of character and the flip side to more investment in the area is greater amenities.
It artsy
Parking is awful, but the cultural/social/restaurant/bar and club scene is amazing.
there are multiple bars and restaurants in walking distance.
The neighborhood is close to the medical campus for VCU which is great for my roommate being a dental student. one block from a farm fresh and numerous little restaurants within walking distance. One con is the train down there is loud but I have gotten used to it and it doesnt wake me up.
Lots of young people around. bars/restaurants/parks nearby
Near a lot of restaurants, bars, and green space. Good for young professionals.
Good.
