Tons of great bars and restaurants. Very close to the Whole Foods, Equinox, Apple Store for those interested in the fancier aspects of Brooklyn
I love Williamsburg. Great neighborhood feel and it's just a short subway ride back into the city.
Great neighborhood with all the best food
30 mins to campus door to door, safe, kindof rowdy on the weekends but a ton to do
Our apartment is under the BQE, which is sort of lame, but there are definitely always tradeoffs in a NY apartment. We have tons of space, and easy access to the L train which goes directly into Manhattan. Williamsburg is popular with students, the under 30 set, bargoers and hipsters.
Williamsburg has great restaurants and bars, and is very convenient to many places in Manhattan that are off the L. The L has become much more reliable over the past few years, but be aware that service may be suspended for an extended period of time because of Sandy repairs, I starting in late 2017 or 2018. Google it for updated info before renting in Wburg.
Williamsburg has everything, except for many NYU students. I love the separation of school and life.
