Williamsburg

Brooklyn's Hipster Hub
An NYC trendsetter, Williamsburg is for the creative newcomers, longtime Brooklyn resident, and the hipster crowd. It is a true mecca for foodies, fashion bloggers, and art lovers. Its quaint streets are doted with trendy cafes, stylish restaurants, local boutiques, performance venues, and eclectic galleries. Williamsburg's nightlife is just as exciting, with wine bars, beer halls, and fashionable clubs. We also recommend checking out the Brooklyn Bowl, a half bowling alley, half concert venue, the Brooklyn Flea Market, and the famous Smorgasburg, and outdoor food festival during the summer. You will never get bored exploring this indie and artsy neighborhood.

No matter what types of living situations you are looking for, Williamsburg probably has it. Central Williamsburg is home to walkups and row homes, while luxury high-rises and condos are popular along the waterfront. If you are looking to hop back into the city, Manhattan is only an L Train away!

Williamsburg — 9.2/10 Rating (based on 13 neighborhood reviews)
Williamsburg is a fantastic neighborhood, close to Manhattan via J/M/Z and L lines as well as having a great vibe on its own. I enjoy all the amazing restaurants, unique movie theaters, music venues, and night spots all within a 3-15 minute walk from my place. Really safe and I have never had a poor experience in the neighborhood during my roughly three years living in Williamsburg.

Williamsburg is fun, moderately cheaper, and relatively accessible to Manhattan. There are great bars, parks, restaurants, and music venues. You still need to take public transit or uber to get to most places.

The Driggs North
Williamsburg has great restaurants and bars, and is very convenient to many places in Manhattan that are off the L. The L has become much more reliable over the past few years, but be aware that service may be suspended for an extended period of time because of Sandy repairs, I starting in late 2017 or 2018. Google it for updated info before renting in Wburg.

North Williamsburg is incredibly safe. The area is also very hip as well. It is only a 7-minute walk to the L train at Bedford Ave which connects to all train lines. It is also a 2-minute ride into Manhattan.

Williamsburg has everything, except for many NYU students. I love the separation of school and life.

Our apartment is under the BQE, which is sort of lame, but there are definitely always tradeoffs in a NY apartment. We have tons of space, and easy access to the L train which goes directly into Manhattan. Williamsburg is popular with students, the under 30 set, bargoers and hipsters.
