Pros: Close to Fort Tryon and Inwood Hill Parks, grocery stores, laundry, and the rent is super cheap!

Cons: Longer commute, and if you like to go out a lot, especially in the East Village or Brooklyn, then it's a real pain to get back late at night.
Lots of parks, some great restaurants, but definitely fewer amenities than some other neighborhoods.
Very nice neighborhood at the top of Manhattan. Close to the Bronx. Short commute to Fordham Lincoln Center by subway.
Pros: Easy commute to school via the A Train; great park-space, bars, and restaurants; affordable.

Cons: Can feel far away, especially when at school late; near some seedier neighborhoods; no Indian food nearby.
