Elevators and other common area utilities are too old to function
The building’s elevators generate loud noise during operation. Unfortunately, most of the studio and one-bedroom units are located near either the elevators or the trash room, so some level of noise is unavoidable during your stay. Management was also very poor in handling the issue. A noisy elevator and a malfunctioning freight elevator—which repeatedly stopped on a certain floor even when no buttons were pressed—were left operating for nearly a month before the freight elevator was temporarily shut down for repairs. In addition, the management office does not accept walk-ins, so residents must schedule an appointment just to speak with them, which is quite unreasonable.

Comfy but only bus access
The apartment is spacious for the price with good natural lighting: a wide floor-to-ceiling window along most of the main room. The building is directly across the street from a large Giant (grocery store), which is extremely convenient. Thick walls - I barely ever hear my neighbors, including above me. The downside is, it isn't near a metro station, so you have to take two buses to get to campus, or else walk for 45 minutes up big hills, or drive for 8-10 minutes (and pay to park).
