Astoria rocks

The prices have definitely gone up, but overall, Astoria is a safe, affordable place to live. I've lived in Astoria for 14 years. Yes, it has become gentrified, but it is still one of the most diverse places in the world. Really. And I think its diversity is part of what has kept it somewhat affordable.

Great location that is not too far from school, and near lots of restaurants and shops. Very young and lively area.

Pros- close to the city, safe, a lot of young people. Get more bang for your buck in terms of rent, as opposed to the city.

Astoria has great restaurants and bars, and it's very family-oriented and safe. I live right next to a middle school and a park, and there are always lots of kids around. You get more space for less money, and it's a lot quieter than Manhattan!

It’s lovely. Plenty of places to eat and activities to do around the neighborhood. It’s really safe at all times of the day.
