Great Location but noisy

The apartment complex is undergoing a lot of remodeling and that causes a lot of noise also walls above are thing and can hear people walking around.

The Standard

Nice finishes, great location, quiet neighborhood. Maintenance is usually responsive, and I haven't had any issues with management overall. Dog friendly and has a great pool! Gym is small but decent. Right by SMU bus stop and walking distance to East Campus.

Definitely the best

1. Secure to live in.
2. Management is very responsive and reacts fast to your maintenance report.
3. The gym is good tho I prefer Dedman gym.
4. The parking is spacious and never have a problem finding parking spots when I arrived home late.
5. A new apartment for only three yrs I think.
6. Best choice for SMU commuters (esp newbies with no transport)!
7. The SMU shuttle stop is only one-minute walk distance!
8. Very clean. during my two years living, I saw no pests for even once! Amazing!
9. I am not advertising. I just love where i live.

Very homey!

The standard is a very cozy place to live! I love having trash pickup included, and never have to take it out myself. The office is pretty quick to respond to work orders.

Rental price is fair, but the maintenance service is bad

I lost my electric vehicle charger in the garage I rent. And the maintenance service is super slow and can only require online.
And pest problems in the apartment, I found cockroaches on the first day I moved in, and the maintenance response really slow. The management team is not responsible, and their attitude is rude.
24 hours gym is the good, but the amenities in the gym are really old.
The gate of the apartment is always opening, I feel not very safe with that. And it took them a while to fix it.

The best thing about the apartment is the location, and the environment is quiet. Only 5 min drive to SMU campus, and near to central market and tomthumb.

Great property, good amenities

The Standard is great! It's super convenient, the amenities are wonderful, super easy as a dog owner, and my apartment is beautiful.

M Streets Reviews

The neighborhood is great. I feel very safe walking alone around the apartment, in the grocery store, and at restaurants nearby.
Super close to SMU, lots of accessible restaurants, stores, gas stations, etc. Easy access to the freeway.
There are a ton of shops and restaurants within walking distance which is great, but there are also a lot of homeless people and some wild stuff going on at night. My boyfriend works the night shift at 7/11 and always comes home with the craziest stories. During the day I would say I love the neighborhood.
The neighborhood is pretty commercial, so it’s not very peaceful…. But lots of good stuff is located very close by or right next to the building (gym/grocery)
Nice, family- and pet-friendly neighborhood. Glencoe Park is right in front of the apartment complex, so there are many families, elderly people, runners, cyclists, dogs, and dog owners walking about the neighborhood. Great area!
Apartments in Old East Dallas are close enough to Uptown and Knox Henderson that you get the city vibe without the city prices. Check out Jimmy's Food Store - an Italian grocery store with THE BEST sandwiches and cannolis!
The vast majority of the tenants are working professionals. I've never seen kids in the complex, and being in my mid-twenties I feel on the young side of the tenants. I've never had unpleasant interactions with the other tenants, everyone keeps to themselves. The complex is close to Skillman and Lovers, so there is plenty of street noise, sirens, etc. but it hasn't been a big bother. It does feel tucked away and not like we're living right on top of a busy street.
The neighborhood is mid-gentrification. There are areas that have been completely gentrified and areas that have yet to be touched. It is definitely a diverse area with a lot of cool restaurants.
