Nice, close to school, but expensive and small

Nice apartment, renovated. Responsive super. Less than 5 minute walk to school, and 10 or less to pretty much any train you'll need. Decent closet space.

But, very small. Expensive. Old building so sometimes issues with heat (old-school radiators) or hot water. Younger tenants so sometimes loud on the weekend (although pretty thick walls).

Also, it's a walk up. I'm on the sixth floor, which I like because I get sunlight, but that can be an issue for some people.

I think it's a good place to start if you want to be close to school, but may want to upgrade to East Village or Brooklyn after first year (which is what I will likely do)
