Park Slope Reviews

Park Slope is a tremendously quiet, residential neighborhood. I have a car and can always find street parking easily accessible to me. If you like greenery and dislike Manhattan, Park Slope is a great neighborhood.

Not really a bars and restaurants person, but seemingly there are a lot of choices around.
Very family-friendly, also tends to attract working professionals in their late 20s and early 30s. Used to be ethnically diverse and mixed income, but is now primarily white upper and upper-middle class. Mostly 4-story brownstones, very scenic. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, etc. Very few chain stores. Numerous churches; plenty of grocery options. Next to Prospect Park, which is gorgeous. Reasonable commute to lower Manhattan. Expensive; probably similar to the Upper West Side or East Village.
The neighborhood is exactly what you want if you have a family. Prospect Park is close, and there are multiple restaurants and bars within walking distance. There is a local gym that is also a short walk away with childcare. The local grocery stores are great for specialty items, and we use Amazon Fresh for our staples.
Park slope is a really great area. Next to Prospect Park, and near other great Brooklyn neighborhoods like Prospect Heights, Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens.
Quiet neighborhood with plenty of coffee shop and cute supermarket
Park Slope has everything that families need: great schools, a world-class public park, shops and restaurants (many run by celebrity chefs). It's also beautiful: quiet, tree lined streets, well-maintained Brownstones and gardens in good order. For commuters to Manhattan, there's transit everywhere, and you can get just about anywhere in 20-45 minutes. Many people have cars and you can street park relatively easily. Although Park Slope is by no means cheap, it is a much better value for the money than neighborhoods like Brooklyn Heights or Cobble Hill, and significantly more affordable than just about anywhere in Manhattan. Real estate is competitive here, especially for buyers, because there is fairly low turnover in houses and apartments. The other great thing for families is that there really is a community here - both my dentist and pediatrician have kids at the same school as mine. You feel connected to people. There is also a strong artist/creative population (although they complain that the lawyers and bankers have started to move in). Certainly, there are singles and couples around, but most of the housing stock and amenities are designed for families. But Park Slope is great for anyone who appreciates quiet, and wants the benefits of the suburbs without having to actually live in one.
Park slope is a great place to enjoy a relaxing neighborhood while having access to one of NYC’s best parks, prospect park. The commute to Stern is not too bad.
Easy access to most subway lines at Atlantic Avenue Barclays Center stop. A bit of a quiet area but very close to good restaurants.
