The apartment is beautiful, the cleaning and maintenance staff are wonderful. And one lone security guard, the gentleman who they call the Sheriff all make this place exceptional. But the Management team is one of the worst many residents have ever seen. Parties getting to excessive without enforcement, to the point where police have been called for assaults, brawls and destroying the property; security not being employed to keep the front door secure let alone the building. Inconsistent applications of policies, some written, others they pull out of thin air and not in signed leases with tenants make this a walking disaster in many ways. The management specifically targets tenants that they party with and drink either while on duty or off onsite. Due to safety concerns, particularly as it relates to drug raids, fires, and police visits, I would never recommend this place to even someone who could handle highly unsafe situations. For the rent they ask, they definitely don't provide a living experience up to the sticker price.

Dock 79 has a lot of good qualities in a building. The Pool and roof deck are great, the gym is fully stocked, and the apartments are new. However, the management team can be slow to respond and communicate. We were not told about impending construction when we leased our apartment. Events are often communicated too last minute to attend. Storage in apartments is also lacking. Overall, good building features but unimpressed by management.

We love it here. The apartments are modern and fit our needs exactly. Definitely the most apartment for the money in the Navy Yard neighborhood. The rooftop area is gorgeous with an awesome pool and incredible views of the Anacostia River. Plus the location across the street from Nationals Park is awesome too. Only drawbacks to this building are that there is no rooftop clubroom and there will be construction noise from nearby projects in the near future.
