Pretty legit

Can't complain one bit about the arts. It's so convenient for center city and to the Jefferson hospital system. Can't beat it to be honest.

Quiet studio in great location!

Very quiet and centrally located studio in CC. Worst drawback is the heating: my apt is 90 degrees in the winter when central heating is running, over which I have no control. I have to constantly run the AC and humidifier to attempt to remedy the situation.

Too dark

We face a giant red brick wall and get 0 sunlight. I love the location. Hate the carpeting though. Very small and honestly the rent should be like 800 not 1000 for the space and the lack of sunlight. It's a safe building with great security guards. 8/10

Looks Great, but a total lie.

When you walk into the building you're definitely dazzled by its interior, but please don't be fooled. Even the rooms are kinda, alright looking, but I can just say, they kinda just painted over the problems! Soft walls, loud neighbors, air conditioner that will never turn off. I have contacted management almost everyday since I moved in, (two months ago) and hey, they still never got back to me. Even though my room is a total ice box. I would be very cautious with this building. It's full of unpleasant surprises. My partner and I are ok with living in a small space together, but it's kind of obviously small and honestly could be considered a closet.

Great value

You dont have to pay 1500 to have a studio in Philadelphia. Just look around and you can find a great deal. Be patient!

Good Location, but crappy apartments

These places are dirty, poorly run, and not worth the money. Like all of the other students in the building I rented because of the proximity to my school, and the great location in the city - but this place is dirty. The door staff sucks.

Awesome City Living on the Cheap!

You cannot beat the location or rents at this place. Some of the units are really torn down and gross, but if you find a good one it is totally worth it. You can walk to everything from here. This building is full of students, so if that is a turn off, you may want to look elsewhere.

Great location, Old building, So-so staff

This building is in the heart of everything, which is great. The water and heat in this building are outdated, and it is super frustrating. In one year I have had 5 work orders, with no real results. The management team is ok, they keep going through staff turn-over. The front desk staff is sub-par and usually unfriendly.

Great location, young crowd!

I am a student, and really enjoy the building. Water system can be slow at times, and it is always too hot on the higher floors. There is a nice gym and a huge laundry facility on site. This is walkable to the theater district and everything center city has to offer.

Midtown Village Reviews

Access to restaurants, attractions, and shops in Center City and even nearby in South Philly or Rittenhouse Square is superb. There is generally a lot of street traffic and drug addiction and homelessness are common in the area, but typically not a source of harm for passersby and also not much different than in any other major urban center in the U.S.
Best neighborhood in Center City - can't beat the price for what you get. Amazing location, just a short walk to Rittenhouse or Old City. Can't beat living in the heart of Center City, and only a 7 minute walk to the hospital. Plenty of night life.
Some crime in the area, but overall, great bar and restaurant scene with easy access to public transit.
Center city is arguably safe but sometimes there are some issues. Police are responsive.
Midtown Village is quickly becoming one of the best places in Philly to live. The quick downside is there's a lot of construction in the area, but that's also the positive if you're okay with the feel of a city that's constantly changing. The area already has lots of great bars and restaurants, and all the new construction is adding in great new options for grocery, coffee, and convenience items. There's now a Target, Mom's Grocery, multiple Wawas, Sweetgreen, etc. all in close proximity to mainstays like Reading Terminal.
Midtown Village is a fast-growing and both has great mainstay restaurants like El Vez and Barbuzzo as well as amazing chains like Chipotle and Sweet Green. The addition of a Target, Wawa, CVS, Starbucks, and Petco makes it even more accessible and naturally the location is as central as you can be in Philadelphia. In comparing options, you usually can get a bit of a discount versus Rittenhouse Square and Old City, mainly because the Midtown Village brand is still being built up, but you really can't beat the location and access to amenities. The only thing it's missing is a full-service grocery store, but between Reading Terminal Market, Target, Walgreens, and CVS you're pretty set. The main downside can be the noise and litter that comes with being in the heart of downtown, but it's a trade off I'm more than willing to make and has been getting better with time.
I love this neighborhood! It's very lively and great for young adults. There are a lot of cool restaurants/bars around. It's a little pricey but what can you expect from being in the center of a city like Philadelphia?
The area is filled with lots of young people. I don't feel unsafe walking around even at night because there are people out all the time. There are a couple of narrow streets I probably wouldn't walk through though.
The neighborhood is amazing and getting better every day! It combines access to great daily conveniences (coffee shops, Target, Wawa, etc.) with some of the best independent restaurants and bars in Philly. The location is incredibly central overall and transit options can get you pretty much anywhere in the city. It can get a bit noisy, though that's the price you pay for being downtown.
