Great location

McKinney Ave is a great place to live. Just on the edge of State-Thomas neighborhood, there's excitement, night life, food, gyms, but it still has a quaint neighborhood feel. Post Worthington is a great value for the luxury of being by State Thomas.

Perfect neighborhood. There are two bars on McKinney that a lot of SMU students love. Most of the bars are on Henderson across 75 and easily walkable too. It’s a very safe area where I feel comfortable walking my dog alone at night as a girl in my early 20s. So nice to live close to the Katy Trail and less than a mile from SMU.
Walking distance to west village
Close to grocery store
Pros:
-Within walking distance of a few bars/restaurants
-Relatively quiet during the day -Some areas are safe -Beautiful parks close by Cons: -Quite a bit of construction around the area -Lots of traffic during peak traffic times -Grocery store is ~10 min away, not as easy to get to as I'd like
The complex is in the medical district, an area that is getting a re-vamp right now. Kroger is close, and a CVS was just built. The Inwood DART station is in the back yard. Love-Field is also about 3 miles away. So super noisy when trains arrive and planes are over head. Good luck if you are talking outside when a plane happens to fly over.
Tons of stuff nearby - shopping center across the street with food, movies, clothing from cheap/casual to black tie, groceries walking distance, great nightlife a mild walk or minimum far uber ride away, about a tenth of a mile from a running trail (1.5 miles on the trail gets you to downtown at the AAC where the Mavericks/Stars play and many other events are hosted). Is a bit far from the office. Depending on whether or not there is an accident, which there usually is, the drive is about 45 minutes to an hour each way.
Oak Lawn is an overall great area in terms of access to the tollway, numerous grocery stores, and entertainment districts. Walkable during the day, although at night it can be somewhat sketchy alone. Nice area close enough to walk to McKinney, Cedar Springs, etc. without living in the thick of it.
Uptown is very walkable with all sorts of amenities nearby, from bars to a new Whole Foods, parks, plenty of restaurants, and free transit on a heritage streetcar system. It is a very safe, well-kept area near downtown.
Oak Lawn offers a lot of restauants and bars and is also walking distance to Uptown and the Katy Trail. The Western area of Oak Lawn can be a bit sketchy, but East of Oak Lawn is perfectly safe.
