Affordable but Commute to Campus

I’ve been in Waverly Place for almost two years. I love my space because I can afford it, I have two bedrooms with a washer/dryer, dishwasher, and *a balcony* with a view over a tree-filled courtyard. I’m located in N Charleston so groceries and gas are less expensive, but I do use more gas on the 30 minute commute to and from campus. The surrounding neighborhoods are old and quirky. Just like living in any city, I’m cautious about safety. But the apartment complex itself Is fairly quiet - mostly military or healthcare professionals, small families, and elderly tenants. There is a pool, gym, computer center, dog park, playground, tennis court, locker space for packages, and a gate (though it’s rarely used). Most of the units are recently renovated, but mine hadn’t been at the time I moved in so I was able to get a lower rate.
