Close to Campus but Management is Subpar
It is super close to campus. You cannot beat the commute time. However, packages are frequently stolen, and York does not seem to care. Additionally, the heat and AC leave much to be desired. It was consistently >30 degrees in my apartment this summer, even though I had AC. Despite numerous complaints and maintenance requests, I had to get the City of Toronto bylaw involved before York sent someone to fix it. Now that the AC is off and the heat is on, it is 30 degrees on the top floor but only 18 degrees on my main floor, so something is still not working properly.

Good
Pros:
- Very close to campus
- Affordable considering cost of living in Ontario, especially the GTA
- Spacious
- Close to subway station and buses
- Food options are nearby
- Pets are welcome
- Laundry is affordable and convenient to use
- No pests (at least so far)
- Enough storage
Cons:
- Internet is spotty on cellphone. Works fine on laptops though. IT and Housing have been useless in resolving this
- Balcony doors don't lock --> safety concern
- Carpet is really old and should be replaced
- Air condition seems like it works well somedays and not as well other days
- Some kitchen cabinets are set up in a way where you can't use them

You get what you pay for
Overall, it's a decent place for the price and location, but I'm heavily considering moving out after the end of my lease or at least switching to a different unit.
PROS:
- Very close to campus (right across the street)
- Monthly rent is very decent, as you won't find another studio apartment in Toronto at a similar rate
- It's nice to live close to classmates, as you can visit each other often and study together
- Closet space is pretty roomy (just the closet though)
- There are several TTC bus stops nearby, and it's a 10-minute walk to York University Station on the line 1 subway
- Pet friendly!

Great place
Great place. Clean and private. Especially considering Toronto's terribly unaffordable and exploitative rental market.

Passy gets the job done
The space is perfect for 1-2 people. Furniture is included, which makes it the ideal move-in ready place for students. Facilities is not the best at handling service requests or security concerns.

Right next to the school, and for the GTA the price is good.

Entire building requires refurbishment
Pros:
- Convenient as it is very close to Osgoode Hall building
- Quite spacious for a 1 bedroom, and adequate storage
Cons:
- When I first moved in, most furniture are either broken or on their way out and most light bulbs are out.
- All lights in my apartment produces a high-frequency buzzing that's migraine-inducing - new LED lights should be used to replace old CFLs.
- Carpets have never been cleaned as they are covered in stains and have a very bad odour.
- Maintenance is only responsive in the sense that they will respond to your emails or maintenance requests, but they do not provide timely service even with urgent issues. My toilet was broken when I first moved in and it took them over 4 days before they came to fix it.
- Fire alarm system testing should really be done during the summer when there are less students. Since the start of school, we've had 2-3 fire alarm testings where there's a flashing light and loud beeping that goes on for long periods of time.
- There's essentially no temperature regulation as room temperature can get up to 35+ celcius during September and October.
- Internet is extremely slow to the point where I struggle with saving a microsoft word document. It has affect my assignment submission multiple times and IT helpdesk has provided no useful solution to this issue.
- Hallway has an extremely pungent odour and stains all over - which I strongly believe has never been cleaned. It has attracted pests like fruit flies, flies, and cockroaches, and has caused multiple infestations.

On Balance, A Very Affordable & Comfortable Stay
Passy Crescent is a very cheap and central place to live for anyone attending Law School at Osgoode. There are issues like the property management not being respectful of your space and the large number of families in the building leading to plenty of noise from children/babies. Overall, it's a very solid place to stay while attending law school.
