Management responsive

Overall a good experience. Apartments are not of the highest quality and some practices are unnecessarily complicated. For example, when switching apartments from first to second year within the complex (our choice), tenants must pay a new security deposit up front, and wait several months to receive the original back. But for the price they are fine and maintenance is generally responsive and helpful.

Serviceable. Not great, but not bad. A decently priced option for folks looking to live alone.

Overall, I’ve had a positive experience living here. For Charlottesville, the price is quite good for a two-bedroom, and my commute to the law school is usually around eight minutes. Management has also been pretty responsive whenever I’ve needed anything.

That said, coming from other places, the cost still feels high for what you get, especially given that some of the appliances and finishes are noticeably outdated. Even so, the overall value, location, and ease of living here make it a solid option.

I've lived at this apartment for over a year and have enjoyed the experience. While some of the appliances and fixtures aren't as modern as I had hoped, the apartment itself works perfectly for my and my partner's needs. Maintenance has been extremely responsive about any issues that have come up, and the building is pet friendly!

If you are able & willing to live a 5-minute drive away from school, Westgate/Barclay is a fantastic option. Reliable & robust amenities, very comfortable, a mix of grad students, young professionals, and families. Could not recommend the complex more — I intend to live here all 3 years.

The apartment has been great, management and maintenance are very helpful. I was told that the appliances were new and they were not new, and there are a few other discrepancies from what I was told when signing the lease versus what I experienced moving in. I was also not able to tour any units because I was told all were occupied. The gym is okay. However, apart from some cosmetic things, I really like the unit itself now that I've moved in and would likely sign a lease again.
