Great apartment with middle to high scale amenities
Chroma has been a great place to live at overall, with some exceptions. The benefits include access to two highways and pick close proximity, five minute drive to SLU, a very nice hot tub open all year round, a pool outside, acafé and restaurant close by with a discounted food, a small gym, a great common room, and parking gated.
However, there has been issues with break-ins into the garage occasionally resulting with people’s cars damaged and windows broken, issues with the pool and hot tub, not working, the movie theater not properly working, and issues with loud noise and parties and police presence nearby given the active nightlife in The Grove. Since the change in management, there have been many new repairs underway to improve the property

Chroma
I have had a great experience at the Chroma. The apartments are updated and secure, and it is only about a mile away from SLU SOM. The sister property, the Hue, is managed by the same company. We have a very nice pool and hot tub area with access to lounge chairs, cabanas, and grills. The parking is secure and close to the entrance of the building. The gym is very high quality for an apartment gym - there is a lot of equipment including free weights.

Chroma Review
Chroma has been a great apartment building to live at. I have a spacious one-bedroom apartment (Newstead design) that has a big kitchen, dedicated living room area, huge closet, and place for a desk outside the bedroom. I also have a private patio and enjoy sitting outside to study. Maintenance is responsive, even switching out my dishwasher the same day it broke. For amenities, the pool is great and the gym is fantastic (as someone who does light workouts, it has plenty of weights and machines- I never feel the need to drive to SLU's gym). My only annoyance was during the summer, when I seemed to get fruit flies in my apartment every day, but that was solved with a $25 catcher from Amazon.

Great apartment, but too expensive
The amenities are great, and the staff is responsive. Usually, any repairs are done quickly. However, the price is far too expensive. Rent usually raises each year as well.

Really quite environment and close to a lot of restaurants

Studio / 1 bath
Meh
Nice place but too expensive. If going to live here, get a studio in hue for like ~1k and you still get to use all the amenities like pool/hot tub/gym. It’s farther from campus than most people will be, and if you face the street the bars from the grove are loud at night. Having the grove/armory/foundry in walking distance is really nice. There will likely be classmates here too (5 1Ls this year)

Love it!
If you don’t mind living 10 minutes from campus, Chroma is amazing. Great amenities, very safe, very fun location in the grove. Definitely worth the price!
