Midtown apartments

Pros: Very convenient downtown location, 15 min walk to work. Excellent view. Close to transit. Great central heating. In unit AC.

Cons: Old building. One elevator. Moving in was hard. Management could be more accommodating. Laundry room on ground floor.

Fabulous neighborhood, but lacks proper maintenance

Midtown Apartments' location is amazing, but the management is extremely slow to fix anything major. The elevator has been out of service at least 6 times in the last year. They also have not repaired our bathroom fan since we moved in. The wooden floor tiles have also needed repair since before we moved in, and they have neglected to bring in someone to repair it.

Great location and neighbors, terrible construction

Reasonable price for size of apartment and location (close to all subways, SEPTA regional rail, multiple busses, AND PATCO!) in a fairly safe neighborhood with good food, a Target nearby, and good neighbors.
Construction across the street starts at 5AM and is a huge noisy annoyance.
I don't own a car, so the building's lack of parking options isn't an issue, but if you've got wheels parking is a serious PITA.

Okay apartment, great location

No major complaints about the apartment personally. I've heard that other tenants have had some real problems with the landlord/property mangers, though. The location is absolutely great--centrally located with plenty of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops around.

Great place in Center City

1 block from PATCO. Good lay out with walk in closet and nice bay window in living room. High ceilings. Excellent center city location. Pets allowed. Communal laundry on first floor. Package room with coded access for packages. Down side is its an older building so there are occasional plumbing or electrical problems.

Nice location

It is an old building but charming and is in a good neighborhood. The only bad thing is the management company who are horrible and unresponsive. Make sure you stay on top of them.

Good apartment, not so good management

My apartment is really well located. I like the hardwood floor, even if it seems more a roller coaster than a flat floor. I had problems with the heating that was not working well. The management did not fix the heating issue for a long time. They did it after multiple requests and in more than one month (we were in the middle of the winter). I also had a water leak from the toilet box. They closed the water and left me one week without fixing the problem. Anyway it's a good location and a good price for the location (now that after 2 years everything is working).
