Great neighborhood, decent space.
This apartment is fine. It’s just fine. Here are some of the upsides: great price, two separate bedrooms, laundry in-building (1$ per load, washer and drier), and central air. The landlord is responsive, and the building and block are safe. The neighborhood is ideal! Great spots to eat, close to south street without the chaos of south street, tons of transportation options.
Downsides: right above a restaurant - no smells or late night crowds; but you can hear the music through the floor and it continues until 10:30/11. The wall-to-wall carpet in the unit is beyond repair and contributes to allergy inflammation, as does the HVAC system (probably has never been cleaned). The appliances all work but are old and not energy efficient. The windows are not insulated. There is NO storage - two small closets. Parking is tough.
