The Lofts Apartments

Close proximity to school and to downtown Grand Rapids, responsive management and maintenance team is a huge plus

Overall, I have really enjoyed this apartment. It was newly renovated, so the space is really nice, newer appliances, etc. There are lots of windows so we get a ton of natural light. I love being able to walk to Secchia.

Pros: management is really nice and maintenance has been timely (even after hours). There is a gym in the building (limited to 2 treadmills, an elliptical, and some dumbbells) & even though it's not a full gym I have been able to keep up my lifting program & for a lot cheaper (free) than planet fitness or the Y would have been. It's walking distance from Secchia & lots of restaurants around GR. The building is always locked & you need a fob to enter. The bedrooms, closet, kitchen, living room are all a great size for me and my roommate.

Cons: there is city noise all the time (people on the street, sirens, etc) & we can hear some noise from our neighbors as well. Only some units have laundry & all others have to pay for shared machines using reloadable cards. There is only one parking space per apt guaranteed and I never got off the waitlist for another one. The building is downtown so parking can be difficult sometimes. The heat and A/C work, but the bedrooms get a little less circulation of them than the common space.

Great experience! Management and maintenance team are kind. Appliances work well and are in new condition.

I love the location of the apartment, it's close to downtown GR and the Secchia Center. The apartment complex itself doesn't have very many amenities: there's a small gym, small inside and outside lounge area and parking garage you pay extra for. However, I'm pleased with the size of the apartment I have and my living space and am planning on living here as long as I'm in Grand Rapids!

I have had extremely positive experiences living at The Lofts on Sheldon. The building management and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. The apartment appliances are new and renovated. Additionally, the environment is great to be in and within a fifteen minute walk of the Secchia Center.
