Nearby campus, easy access to a bus stop, and grocery stores. Peaceful and affordable.

Affordable and close to campus.

The cost of rent is fair, even for a person living on their own. The property manager and maintenance staff respond quickly. It's a little removed from downtown, but still easy to walk there. It has a stop for bus routes 7 and 8. The apartments are close to Dillons and Checkers. There is a park that only takes five minutes to walk to.

The apartment has an electric stove and dishwasher, but no washer or dryer. There is an on-site laundry room, though. It can be loud due to traffic noise because the apartments are near a busy intersection.

There are so many great things about this place:
- It's in the center of town close to campus and Mass St
- There is a bus stop right outside the complex that goes to directly to campus and central station
- Tenants are quiet (for the most part) and a lot of graduate students and families seem to live here
- My apartment is recently renovated
- Management is both friendly and competent.

Downsides:
- I have some noisy neighbors upstairs but I don't think this is the norm here. However, if you do have noisy neighbors, the structure is not very good at dampening that.
- My unit is right on the corner of 19th and Tennessee, so I get some traffic noise.

Birchwood is a good location and convenient for international students. There are bus stops nearby to go to campus or to other areas of town.
It is also possible to walk to campus or to stores in the area. For international students with children, this is near public schools and parks.
I pay a very convenient price for the unit, but one disadvantage is that the building is quite old and problems with water disposal happen often. Another disadvantage is that there is no laundry machine inside the units, you can use the ones located near the management office (in my case that means having to cross the street to get there).

It is friendly and safe. It is old.

A little old and past maintenance work is subpar, so make sure to look at corner walls, past patchwork sinks and toilet and report any issues that you think need fixing before signing your contract. Also, laundry facility is communal but parking is free.

Is a quiet place, nice people around, near the university.
However, is hard to catch a bus during winter because is faster to walk and take a bus to KU.
Is near to a Dillons (4 min.) and Mass street (20). Walking.
