What is a “title”

When I began my undergraduate studies, my rent was $545/month. Six years later, same apartment ( with less amenities ), my rent is $1260/month! Now, as a graduate student I have to work just to pay the rent increases! This is a dangerous neighborhood. I live on a fixed income (978/month). I am currently trying to find a cheaper apartment.
