Great value, recommend
These apartments are great for the amount we pay. They are well-managed (prompt snow removal, active HOA) and maintenance is always responsive. They aren’t brand new and there is some wear and tear in our unit (and I expect the same of other rentals). But for the location and price, it’s worth it! My partner and I re-signed our lease for two years, so we’ll be here all 3 years of my law school.

Hessian Hills Condos
I love the convenience of being 5 minutes from the law school, but still having the separation of school and home. I think it is a great price for a two-bedroom (with a patio and in-unit laundry!). The building is older so if you need modern appliances or a modern feel this is not for you.

Great cost for value!
The location, price, and quality of the Hessian Hills units really can’t be beat. Each unit is owned by an independent landlord, so YMMV, but the people I know here have had good experiences, quick maintenance, etc., myself included. If you’re looking to move just a bit away from grounds but you still want to be close enough to the Barracks Road area, the location of Hessian Hills is perfect.

OK value for an old apartment with great location
Great location relative to law school & Darden (less than 5 min drive). Not walkable to north grounds, though. Used to be a great value before landlord raised rent by >$300 last year. Still OK value, but the apartments are definitely old and have old building problems. Landlord is semi-responsive and quite resistant to making upgrades to appliances/infrastructure. There's a very loud, obnoxious family in this building with young kids, so be aware of that. But all in all, it's a fine place to live. Great overall community for pets, lots of trails to walk.

Hessian Hills
Great price, great location to shops at Stonefield and the law school. Very spacious with cute balconies. Interior is very unit-dependent so be sure to tour!

Great
It’s been great. They are condos, so each one will be different. But the location is excellent and it has been hassle free.

Decent apartment sizes, though no central complex management. True condominiums so each unit is owned by varying landlords. Mine is managed by a local team of 2, who are also involved in the university. The complex has been great for my dog because it has lots of grass interconnected so there has never been a danger of having to cross a road to give them a long walk.
