Great location, absurd rent

Management company is bad. The super does his best. Mostly young professionals in the building, but a few concerning individuals who yell/scream/party in the middle of the night. Last year, there were a lot of safety issues and unhoused people being let into the building, in part because of some squatters who were struggling with addiction. This year, things have gotten better. Two doors for the building, but the one inside constantly has its locks broken.

Decent place to live

I got COVID pricing, so I'm paying $1700/month. Others are paying between $1900-$2100/month. No doorman, packages go missing, close to Times Square. My kitchen is separated from the bedroom and has all brand-new appliances with a stone countertop. I live on the ground floor, so it's poor lighting. Noise pollution is shockingly minimal. The super doesn't live in the building and English isn't his first language, so he yells on the phone sometimes and can be tough to work with when you've locked yourself out of your apartment. We're supposed to get access to the laundry machines next door (the same landlord owns the apartment building) but we haven't.
