Very Solid Apartment in West Philly

This is a more recently built apartment, so it feels very clean and updated.

Safety and Transportation: I feel very secure in the building, and it is not too far of a walk from the trolley, bus, and regional rail stations. It's also not too far from Clark Park and Baltimore Avenue that has lots of cute West Philly restaurants and shops. In terms of distance from UPenn, though, it can be a bit of a trek (40 minute walk), so you have to be aware to plan in advance for transportation time. I also recommend utilizing Penn's shuttle services (which will drop you off right here!) when it gets later/darker at night. However, besides one interaction with someone on the trolley system, I have not had any other issues with feeling unsafe. The area feels very residential with families and other young adults who just mind their own business.

Maintenance and Amenities: Since this is new, it's got a gym and a nice lounge and deck that always seem available and very new. Each floor also has a trash and recycling chute. I have never had any issues with the elevators not being available, or with mail not being found (there's a separate mail room with Amazon lockers that is locked). Usually, the management is pretty quick with responses, but my roommate and I did spend more than two months going back and forth about washer and dryer issues that were caused by the previous tenants. The management was not willing to compensate us for our lost time, but they were able to get it fixed eventually on their own.

Overall, the space is super nice, and it feels quiet. It's also super pet-friendly! I see lots of dogs, and my roommate has a cat. We have our own bedroom and bathroom for a pretty decent price. Even though we are right by the rail line, when the windows are shut, the noise is not that noticeable. The sunlight comes through very big windows in the living room.

I recommend this apartment if you are looking to live out in West Philly in a quieter area.

Fine, but pricey

Brand new complex (2022). Pricey for the space you get. Decent amenities, new appliances, location is good. Solid neighbors and generally quiet. Out of the university area, which is really nice. Both units I've lived in have been in great shape. No pests yet. Closet space varies by unit. I wanted to live in West to be near queer BIPOC people, so it's worth it to me to be a 30 min walk to campus.

Meadowline

The building is new and clean. The finishes and amenities are very good for the price point. The neighborhood is nice, except for reckless drivers, problems with litter, and a few people who act dangerously. The 13 trolley is about one block away and is convenient to the law school.
