Affordable for the space and unique character but lacking modern ammenities
I have mixed feelings because I really love my apartment, it is an old building so all the units feel full of character and unique charm. Units are very spacious for the price and look beautiful and impressive once fully decorated. However, there are serious downsides. The units are not frequently updated so they lack important features: there is only a handful of grounded outlets in each unit, there is no A/C, pay-operated laundry in a gross basement, and dealing with general old-building problems. It never looks sparkling clean even right after you clean it. The landlords are also very uninvolved in the property. They will respond to contact but are not proactive. The building itself gets very little regular maintenance. The guy who showed us the apartment when we toured clearly had never been there before and didn't know any information about the unit, he couldn't even tell us the rent. Utilities are also not included which adds on to the price significantly. So overall, a lot of downsides but it's a great location and decent price for a great space if you can deal with all the other issues.
