Pros and Cons

The Archway is a new building and has modern appliances and interior design. It has a nice location, good cleaning staff and complimentary snow clearing in the winters. Covered parking is available for a fee and there is a moderately equipped gym that residents have access to. There is a clubhouse area with a pool table and an outdoor area with gas grills on the top floor. Some of the cons are that the building material is cheap and breaks easily, and the landlord does not have the best reputation, so the combination of those factors can be stressful if you aren’t careful to avoid damage. Overall, it is pricier than other options in the same area, but you do get a nice place to live with albeit with some caveats.

Love the apartment....

I love the apartment itself! It's cute and the gym is good enough for working out in a pinch. I also like the quiet work space and the lounge areas and balcony are great for when I have friends over. It's super conveniently located to all the necessities like school, gas station, grocery etc. But there are downsides.

The people, including management, are not friendly. There is one leasing agent in particular who is super rude and unprofessional. She will act annoyed at questions over the phone. The after-hours line for emergency maintenance requires multiple calls and prodding if you ever need help. I had a leaky dishwasher and it took several calls to get maintenance. Every time I called, the same person answered and apologized for forgetting to call maintenance and promised to do it right away. This happenedd 3 times before someone was finally called and came over.

I also had a noise complaint filed against me in the first two months of living when I had never had friends over. A neighbor had complained about the general noises I made while walking. Management suggested maybe my cat was too loud....

I also was once playing pool in a lounge and a fellow resident in the building complained that we were disturbing her studying by playing pool and she refused to relocate to the quiet study space. In general people keep to themselves. I have lived in apartments for 6+ years and never had issues building/finding community before living here. TLDR the people and management are pretty unfriendly

Archway Apartment

Archway is nice because it's close to the apartment, clean, and modern. The noise cancellation is not great so you might get unlucky with loud neighbors. It seems a lot of the residents are law or medicine graduate students. Plenty of parking. In North haven so its safe but not the best for going out/ being social.

Great Experience

The management team can be a bit slow during the application process and unpleasant, but the apartment itself is new and has been great.

The Archway Review

I really like it at the Archway. It’s a newer apartment complex so everything is updated and new. It is a 3 minute drive from campus—you could even walk if you wanted to. Parking is free and there are a lot of spots, but covered parking is $75 a month. Gym is free and there are a lot of communal spaces, study rooms, a roof top area with grills, and a fire pit outside. The apartments are dog and cat friendly. I believe it’s $50 a month for a pet. Apartments have in-unit washer and dryer. Every unit has an AC and heater, and a small balcony. I feel very safe here and I’m happy with my choice to live here. The Archway is on a busy street so you are not far from a Big Y grocery store, or gas station. The entrance to the freeway is really close too. If I ever have issues with my appliances or need something fixed in my apartment, the management company has a maintenance team that can come and fix it. I’ve had my AC fixed within 2 days, and my sink was cracked, which was replaced within a few days. Have a good relationship with the management office, so they help you with what you need in a timely manner. I’ve heard from other residents that it took 2 weeks for their AC to get fixed. Most communication with management is through email, so just be vigilant, and bump your email if you don’t hear anything back. Sometimes I just go in person to the management office if they are there.

When you move in, the apartment does not have a communal dolly. You must bring your own if you are to be bringing in heavy items. It definitely helps when moving in furniture. The walls are pretty sound proof. I don’t hear my nextdoor neighbors. However, I do hear my upstairs neighbor when they walk, but that’s understandable for apartment living. This complex has 1 bedroom, studio, and 2 bedroom options. The only utilities you have to pay are electricity, and you have to get your own wifi. The apartment complex does have its own wifi that is free, but that is only on the first floor. On average (depending on the month) I pay about $100 to $120 per month for electricity. Everything in your apartment is powered by electricity. There’s no gas. My electricity is through UI and they have a financial assistance program through their website that you can apply to once you are living there. It can reduce your electricity bill by 50%.

Nice local apartments!

This multi-unit building is newer construction with fantastic amenities including in-unit washer/dryer combo, gym, pet washroom, penthouse shared space, and future spaces for things like a theater area and store fronts. Mostly young population living in the units. It is pet friendly, but there are limited areas to play & walk dogs. Management is generally well responsive and maintenance responds fairly quickly.

The Archway

The Archway is a newly constructed building as of 2023 and the apartment units are beautiful, modern, spacious, and amenities are all pretty much brand new which is wonderful. I love all the extra spaces available here - the conference rooms, meeting spaces, rooftop, etc. maintenance team is great and always come in a very quick and timely manner, management is usually fairly easy to get ahold of for any needs.
