Quiet and Inexpensive
Living in midtown is quiet and less expensive than living downtown. While I miss being able to walk everywhere, I rest much better because of less noise. It is also much more affordable. Whereas before I was paying around $1200 to live in a downtown apartment, I now split rent with a roommate/fellow law student. We each pay $875 each. We also have gated parking, which is nice. The landlords are very responsive and hands-off unless we need them. I would recommend staying downtown your first year of law school and then trying to find a place in midtown with a classmate/friend to help save money.
