TTC Accessible Condos in Concord/Vaughan

I live in a corner unit with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms right beside the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) Subway station. My commute is about 5 minutes on the subway, and about 20 minutes total from my unit’s front door to the doors of Osgoode. Security in the building is friendly and competent, and there is a Walmart that is walking distance (1km/15min) for groceries.

The unit comes with one free membership to the YMCA gym which is right next door, and is in the same building that houses the VMC Vaughan Public Library which is a great place to study. The unit also has a large balcony which is very enjoyable in the summer months.

My main gripe with the condo is that the non-corner units are less spacious, and even the corner unit that I’m in lacks storage space, including a pantry. However, having two bedrooms makes it easier to deal with this given that each room has a closet (and we’re using the second bedroom as an office space). The rooms also don’t have proper overhead lighting other than the kitchen and bathrooms, so you’ll need to buy lamps for your living room and bedrooms. Finally, the building switches from AC to heating in mid October so when there’s a few hot days at the end of the month we just open our balcony door and turn on a fan to prevent over heating. Similarly, in the switch from heating to AC in the spring, on the colder spring days you won’t have heating on days you may need it.
