About Greenpoint

Due to Greenpoint's strong Polish community, the neighborhood is often referred to as "Little Poland". The delicious Polish delis, bakeries, and restaurants share the streets with new, trendy eateries, coffee shops, and bars. Amazing bars and restaurants, parks, sunlight, and lively atmosphere. My favorite neighborhood in the city. It was so nice to have a different home away from Fordham (though Fordham is great too!)
Williamsburg has great restaurants and bars, and is very convenient to many places in Manhattan that are off the L. The L has become much more reliable over the past few years, but be aware that service may be suspended for an extended period of time because of Sandy repairs, I starting in late 2017 or 2018. Google it for updated info before renting in Wburg.
I love Williamsburg. Great neighborhood feel and it's just a short subway ride back into the city.
Williamsburg has everything, except for many NYU students. I love the separation of school and life.
On border of Greenpoint and Williamsburg. Young neighborhood, close to public transit; lots of great restaurants and bars.
Our apartment is under the BQE, which is sort of lame, but there are definitely always tradeoffs in a NY apartment. We have tons of space, and easy access to the L train which goes directly into Manhattan. Williamsburg is popular with students, the under 30 set, bargoers and hipsters.
Great neighborhood with all the best food
Safe area, lots of bars and restaurants. Close to a large park and the G and L (kinda) trains.
