Convenience place to be

Olivia is located near the Penn Station, which makes it very convenient to go anywhere in NY. Facilities are relatively new, and staff is nice.

Bad > good, expensive for 'classic' outdated luxury apt, mgmt useless

Leasing office claimed building is non-smoking but backtracked after we complained about smelling smoke in our apt (tenants are allowed to smoke in their apt). Mgmt will always say sorry for any inconvenience but offer no resolution, IF you get them to respond. Elevators are slow and often inoperable. The large washers in the laundry rooms were always broken and took weeks to repair. Verizon internet would go out regularly. Very thin walls, I could hear my neighbor belching and smell their cigarette smoke. On the positive side, they offer frequent social events, it is in a convenient location close to subway lines/Penn station, great views from gym and roof, and the doormen/maintenance crew are top notch.

Great experience overall

I've really enjoyed living at the Olivia over the last 2 years for a number of reasons. First, the management is friendly and responds quickly to service requests, usually within the same day. Second, the windows are huge and provide beautiful view of the city. You also have amazing views from the gym and rooftop. Third, the Olivia is so close to Penn Station, making it really easy to get wherever I need to quickly. I'd recommend this building to anyone.

Convenient Location

Near Penn Station and all subway lines. Doormen and maintenance people were very helpful and nice. Great gym and rooftop. However, after living there for 4 plus years, management never updated the amenities during our stay. Instead they made us pay for a new tub and oven when we moved out even though it was not damaged or dirty. Tried to fight it/negotiate and couldn't.

Chelsea Reviews

The neighbourhood is a great location, being walking distance from NYU. There are multiple lines of subway transit at very short distances. Great restaurants around. I love the accessibility to Chelsea Piers as well.
Next to all trains, this location central enough that you can reach any point in Manhattan within 20 minutes.
Pros: close to both the ACE and the 7 subway lines; Amtrak/NJ Transit at Penn Station; and Bolt and Mega Bus by the Javits Center. The High Line is right up the street from my apartment, which takes you straight to Meatpacking and Chelsea Market. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby in Chelsea. Also a short walk to Whole Foods and 6th avenue shopping.

Cons: A bit of a walk to get to grocery stores, coffee shops, and pharmacies (~3-5 blocks). Lots of construction! Hudson Yards construction is 24/7; and the construction on 28th street between 10th and 11th avenue also goes into the weekend. The Scores and Eagle Bar noise isn't as bad, but it can get noisy on late weekend nights, with drunk and rowdy patrons smoking outside.
Chelsea is a great neighborhood. A lot of good restaurants and bars, cute galleries, near the highline. Although a lot of the places to go out are pretty nice and on the pricier side.
Neighborhood is great! Clean with tons of grocery stores, restaurants, and shops. I also enjoy all the bike lanes - super accessible to everything
Excellent neighbourhood in terms of convenience of location as well as availability of good restaurants and entertainment options nearby.
I walk about 20 minutes to school, but it’s a walk through a great part of town. I have easy access to subway lines, lots of grocery stores, and I enjoy running on the west side highway. It’s also nice to be a close distance (but not necessarily TOO close) to penn station for travel purposes.
Chelsea is safe and relatively quiet and family friendly.
