A Warning from a Tenant: The Money Trap Rental Site
I was very surprised when I read the reviews here, but despite that, I decided to rent a place from here. However, when I experienced what others have gone through, I agree with all of them.
My lease term on this site ends on December 28, 2023. I was supposed to give notice 60 days in advance, but I could only inform them approximately 56 days before. Thinking it wouldn't be a big deal since we had been staying here, I went to the leasing office. They told me that due to my late notice of 4-5 days, I would have to pay an extra two months' rent.
To avoid paying this penalty, I asked to extend my contract for another 6 months. The other day, I went back, and I signed it. However, I mentioned that I wanted to move out 56 days later when the contract ends, and I complained about the house being very cold.
They were very rude and said, 'You signed the contract yesterday; we've entered it into the system. If you cancel, you'll have to pay 2 months (for termination) + 2 months (60 days notice) = $7,000.'
So, I understand that this place is like a money trap, and I'll have to stay here for another 6 months against my will. During these 6 months, I will tell everyone about what I've experienced. Therefore, my advice to you is to absolutely avoid coming anywhere near this site
