Comfortable and safe

I enjoy my apartment! It's a quick drive to school and close enough to downtown if I make a last minute decision to go to a Stars or Mavs game.

Great Property

The gym is amazing- it has Peloton bikes and Mirror workout classes. I wouldn't walk around outside alone at night, but it seems safe during the day. Every time we have had an issue, management fixes it quickly. It takes me about 10-12 minutes to get to campus in the mornings.

Fitzhugh Urban Flats Review

Fitzhugh Urban Flats in located in the Knox Henderson area of Dallas. The walkability is good, with many restaurants and coffee shops within a 10 minute walk. It is close enough to the buzz of Uptown that you get the city feeling, but removed enough that you avoid the high rent prices! We live in a nearly 1000 square foot one bedroom, so there are definitely smaller and cheaper options available. This is the perfect apartment for dog owners! It seems like nearly everyone has a dog and there is a nice community between the pet owners. I highly recommend checking out Fitzhugh Urban Flats!

Fitzhugh Urban Flats Review

The apartment is overall very nice. It is a great price for the size and the apartment itself is very nice. There are 3 pools at the complex, a nice enough gym, and lots of parking. There is not a major safety concern but the recent break ins have been unsettling.

Love the Apartment/Hate how unsafe I feel

First off, this apartment is located on minutes from pretty much anywhere you want to go in Dallas. From bars to shopping, to restaurants. The staff is amazing! The only thing I don't like, is that it is by a "shady" area and we have had several break ins. I also don't feel safe walking our taking my dog out at night, which shouldn't be the case for how much I spend here. On another note, maintenance is always great and quick to respond. Overall, I have loved living here.

Great value in up and coming neighborhood

This is a great community with many neighbors who are like-minded. Many residents have dogs and there are 2 dog parks. There are 3 pools in the complex, and many residents hang out there during the summer. Parking is pretty easy to find. Maintenance is responsive.

Getting around Old East Dallas

Old East Dallas Reviews

30 reviews
The area is becoming gentrified, so some areas feel unsafe while others feel very walkable. There is an upcoming bar scene along Ross. I love that I am close to everything -- Fair Park, Deep Ellum, Downtown, Uptown, White Rock Lake, SMU, etc. I am close to Kroger, Target, Sprouts and Whole Foods. There are TONS of restaurant and nightlife options. I would not recommend using scooters in the streets and to be wary riding a bike. There are few bike lanes and sidewalks end randomly. There are many gyms, libraries and things to do nearby including a few parks and simple trails.
Amazing location. Quick access to 75 and into heart of downtown. Takes only 5 minutes to get to Lemmon Ave, Greenville Ave and Skillman Ave. Area surrounding the property is either residential neighborhood or sketchy gas stations. Shady characters have been spotted on the property peeking in the gymnasium windows. But overall, safe comparable to anything further south.
Apartments in Old East Dallas are close enough to Uptown and Knox Henderson that you get the city vibe without the city prices. Check out Jimmy's Food Store - an Italian grocery store with THE BEST sandwiches and cannolis!
The neighborhood is mid-gentrification. There are areas that have been completely gentrified and areas that have yet to be touched. It is definitely a diverse area with a lot of cool restaurants.
The neighborhood is definitely a fun place to be as a social young person in Dallas - the proximity in the city and popular bars and restaurants can't really be beat
The neighborhood is up and coming so there are a lot of good restaurants popping up in the immediate area. Lots of young professionals live in this area.
The neighborhood is fantastic. The closer you get towards 75 or Fitzhugh is not the best. Camden Henderson is situated in a cozy area.
It's undergoing a transformation; starting to get bars and restaurants. Lots of walkable parks to get to.
