L2 Uptown

Overall I have enjoyed my apartment stay mainly due to the incredible location and amenities. It's a short 10 minute drive to campus, have restaurants and shops within walking distance, and a dog park right across the street for our pet. The management of the building has changed recently and it has not been as accommodating as the previous owners but other than that I enjoy the amenities of the pool and gym and friendly neighbors.

Good place to live

No qualms with the L2. Everything as expected. Good storage space, responsive office staff, clean building. It's in a good location -- a block away from Sunfresh (grocery store) and a few blocks away from West Village (shopping, restaurants, movie theater). All the basics are walking distance. However, it is pricey.

Very close to Katy Trail! Close to Whole Foods. Lots of restaurants, bars and other apartment buildings nearby.
The neighborhood is mostly composed of young adults. There are families mixed in here and there. The area is relatively safe for Dallas but occasionally there are issues such as broken-in cars (we receive several notices to empty cars before going in). There are lots of places to eat with several well known chains in the area as well as unique spots. There is a trolley that circles the area and downtown that is useful. Parking on the weekends can be hard to come by.
Perfect mix of nightlife and small restaurants, shops and activities including Katy Trail
Very pleasant place with a lot of restaurants and nearby parks. However, the nightlife is lacking, despite the large amount of bars (it used to be popular here apparently, but now everybody goes to Deep Ellum on the weekends).
Pros:
-Within walking distance of a few bars/restaurants
-Relatively quiet during the day
-Some areas are safe
-Beautiful parks close by

Cons: -Quite a bit of construction around the area -Lots of traffic during peak traffic times -Grocery store is ~10 min away, not as easy to get to as I'd like
The complex is in the medical district, an area that is getting a re-vamp right now. Kroger is close, and a CVS was just built. The Inwood DART station is in the back yard. Love-Field is also about 3 miles away. So super noisy when trains arrive and planes are over head. Good luck if you are talking outside when a plane happens to fly over.
Tons of stuff nearby - shopping center across the street with food, movies, clothing from cheap/casual to black tie, groceries walking distance, great nightlife a mild walk or minimum far uber ride away, about a tenth of a mile from a running trail (1.5 miles on the trail gets you to downtown at the AAC where the Mavericks/Stars play and many other events are hosted). Is a bit far from the office. Depending on whether or not there is an accident, which there usually is, the drive is about 45 minutes to an hour each way.
Oak Lawn is an overall great area in terms of access to the tollway, numerous grocery stores, and entertainment districts. Walkable during the day, although at night it can be somewhat sketchy alone. Nice area close enough to walk to McKinney, Cedar Springs, etc. without living in the thick of it.
