Really like the Continental

I like the Continental building, but I wish I had more windows that brought in more natural light. I love the Downtown life and being able to get to wherever I need to go quickly. Overall, the management is great, maintenance is quick to fulfill your requests. I have been here for 2 1/2 years and I have been content.

It’s amazing as a social scene! The neighborhood has a lot to offer in terms of food and entertainment. The only downside to the neighborhood is it does have a large homeless population and as a female, I just always make sure I am walking back home with a friend just to be safe. I have never felt unsafe and have loved experiencing all that Downtown and Deep Ellum have to offer.
living 3 blocks from deep ellum can be challenging in the weekends where street parking is non existent
Downtown is still tiny. It has no grocery store but businesses are slowly filling in and residents seem to be coming as soon as units become available. Give it a chance, it's a great place to be if you're not into traffic and living in your car.
Super safe and close to campus.
Living in the Arts District is awesome. lots of car break ins and a few homeless people that are always loitering around.
So far I like living in Downtown. There isn't a TON of things to do but there are bars and restaurants and it's not far from Deep Ellum and Uptown where there are a lot of options. Both DART and bus stations are nearby, and direct access to almost any interstate since they all cross downtown, which is convenient.

I have always slept with earplugs but I don't find Downtown Dallas to be particularly noisy at night. There are a lot of sirens from fire/ambulance but there is not a lot of noise from people being rowdy at night. There is obviously more on the weekends but still not enough to really be a bother. If you move to a downtown area, more noise than in a suburban neighborhood is to be expected.

Disappointing things about downtown: there is no grocery store! There is a CVS and several 7/11s but no grocery store in walking distance.
Close to downtown, deep ellum, and farmers market. Area is up and coming meaning there are still a lot of homeless people who roam but in general I feel fine with it. It's nice to not be in a cookie cutter part of Dallas like Uptown.
Very Walkable, however, there are homeless people that drift and wander around, but they never bother me
