Fort Greene

An Ethnically Diverse and Strong Community
The Fort Greene neighborhood is home to a historic namesake park, the location of an actual fort for the American Revolutionary War supervised by General Greene. This culture hub is family and professional friendly, with residents coming from ethnically diverse backgrounds. The sense of community and local pride is very strong though, as evident by the vibrant restaurants, trendy boutiques, hip bars, charming bodegas, indie shops, casual eateries, and stylish coffee shops dotting its tree-lined streets. For more popular landmarks, check out events at the Barclays Center and the seasonal flea markets - a favorite among locals and visitors.

Italianate and Eastlake architecture are evident in Fort Greene's elegant brownstones and row homes. Fort Greene has a rich literary and artistic scene as well. Local bookstores line Fulton Avenue, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music is a must see show-stopper! Subway stations are easily accessible throughout the quiet and serene neighborhood.

Fort Greene — 7.5/10 Rating (based on 4 neighborhood reviews)
Not much of a neighborhood. It does have a supermarket and a decent wine store, but beyond that I don't go anywhere in the immediate neighborhood. However, there are several great neighborhoods nearby.
