A tree-lined and charming neighborhood with a distinct personality, Fourth Ward is a great option for young professionals. It is situated in the northwest section of Charlotte's Uptown area. In the mid-1800s, the area was one of the more prosperous neighborhoods in town. In the last century, many residents moved around surrounding communities. However, Fourth Ward today is seeing a great transformation and, a vibrant part of Uptown. Many of its century-old homes still grace its avenues, alongside modern new condo and apartment buildings. There’s much to do here, including an annual "Fourth Ward Holiday Home Tour," which offers people a view of the neighborhood's magnificent homes decked out for the holiday. The AvidXchange Music Factory is a huge attraction, offering a large arts and entertainment complex which contains The Fillmore Charlotte, a state of the art music venues, nightclubs, bars, restaurants, and comedy clubs. The Discovery Place Science museum for adults and children alike, who are interested in interactive exhibits find this to be an exciting addition to the town.

With plenty of pubs and burger joints in the area, residents can easily grab a quick bite and relax. The restaurant and bar scene is also hopping in Fourth Ward. Restaurants include Capital Grille, McNinch House Restaurant, where people can enjoy dinner in a Victorian setting, Little Village Grill, Alexander Micheal’s, located in a building that originally was a grocery store in the 1800s, Morton’s The Steakhouse, and The King’s Kitchen. Bars in the area include Wet Willie’s, Crave Dessert Bar, Tilt on Trade, and Pub at Gateway.
