Northeast Dallas

Pleasant Living
Northeast Dallas is a neighborhood known for its family-friendly atmosphere and attitude. Made up of several residential developments that merged in the late 1970s, Northeast Dallas maintains the serenity of its historic roots as a pecan orchard. The neighborhood offers long-time residents and young families alike a peaceful, close-knit community, with wide streets for walking or biking, and an abundance of beautiful trees. For convenience, the neighborhood includes easy access to a variety of grocery shops - Kroger, Tom Thumb grocery store, and Central Market. The restaurant scene is also bustling for locals. Notable restaurants include Keller’s, Grub Burger Bar, Kuby’s Sausage House, and Desperados Mexican restaurant. All are fun places to eat, drink, and socialize.

There are parks just outside of town for people looking to spend an unhurried afternoon outdoors when the weather is nice - including White Rock Creek Greenbelt, Flag Pole Hill Park, and Norbuck Park. These are perfect spots to go on a walk, have a picnic, or even enjoy some kite-flying. Northeast Dallas is perfect for you if you are looking for a family-friendly neighborhood that is not too far away from the city.

Northeast Dallas — 7.8/10 Rating (based on 12 neighborhood reviews)
This is a super safe and fun neighborhood. Its so close to lower greenville, which is an awesome place for drinks and dinner, but also there are a ton of great restaurants, of all levels of fancy, within walking distance.

It’s amazing as a social scene! The neighborhood has a lot to offer in terms of food and entertainment. The only downside to the neighborhood is it does have a large homeless population and as a female, I just always make sure I am walking back home with a friend just to be safe. I have never felt unsafe and have loved experiencing all that Downtown and Deep Ellum have to offer.

Close to downtown, deep ellum, and farmers market. Area is up and coming meaning there are still a lot of homeless people who roam but in general I feel fine with it. It's nice to not be in a cookie cutter part of Dallas like Uptown.

Not much of a neighborhood given that it's located right next to American Airlines center, however, it is quiet and calm (when there are no events going on).

The neighborhood is great. You’re right next to Casa Linda to go shopping and you’re 10-15 minutes to downtown.

-within 5 minute uber of Deep Ellum/Uptown nightlife and restaurants; ~10 minutes to Lowest Greenville.

-walking outside is fine during the day, but I would buddy-system at night if you are a girl.

Its not the best neighborhood. If you turn wrong down one street, It's a lil dicey but turn the other way and you're in a great neighborhood. However, it is close to everything. It's convenient to go to restaurants, uber to and from airports, etc.
