This neighborhood is great because you have so many walking options and are in the best part of downtown. I never have to drive anywhere because I can even walk to the grocery store. It can be a little dangerous at night but if you're aware of your surroundings you will be fine.

Being able to walk and exercise on the canal is really nice, especially during breaks from school. It is really quiet and hard to believe you are downtown. Depending on which side of the apartment you live on, you could have great views and natural light.

I love living on the canal. There is always a place to walk/run and we are within walking distance to bars, school, multiple green spaces, the zoo, museums, and all the sports venues. The only downside is safety- I never go out at night alone.
