University Park

Close to Campus
University Park is situated on the streets surrounding the beautiful campus of Southern Methodist University, and is only 15 minutes from downtown Dallas. Known for being a wealthy neighborhood with a variety of retail, entertainment, eats, and drinks, there is never a shortage of things to do.

One of the most popular attractions is Meadows Museum which houses Spanish art dating back to the 15th century. You may also visit the streets of Snider Plaza lined with trendy fashion boutiques and cafes for a little retail therapy and a cappuccino. As the sun sets, the nightlife in University Park rises, with local favorites including Bernie’s at Preston Tower and Bar Louie. For nature lovers, enjoy the beautiful fishing pond and play areas tucked into Caruth Park.

It's UP. You're close to school and Snider Plaza, and nothing is that far of a drive.

I love how safe and quiet the neighborhood is. It’s close to everything, and there is shopping, grocery stores, and restaurants within walking distance. It’s also very close to SMU!

It's literally across the street from SMU, so you know the neighborhood. Easy walk to Snider Plaza, and not far from Uptown.

Living near campus is the most safest place to live around SMU. University park police is always around. The only thing make me handle my place situation. Just being close to campus save a lot of time and parking money.

SMU Apartments
Neighborhood is beautiful, feels safe, lots of families, contains SMU. It is mostly residential but some office and retail in Snider Plaza (including Tom Thumb grocery store and CVS pharmacy) and along Hillcrest. Lovers Lane and Mockingbird DART Stations are just across Central Expressway. The neighborhood has some nice small parks, especially lining Turtle Creek and the George W. Bush Library's Native Texas Prairie Park. It looks like an ideal neighborhood to raise a family with good schools, but housing is expensive with lots of large-lot single-family homes but with some moderate-lot single-family homes and multi-family homes near SMU.

University park is a gorgeous neighborhood that's mostly unaffordable for grad students. I think the remington is one of the only "affordable" properties in the area, and "affordable" is relative.

But it's a gorgeous place to live. Safe and quiet with beautiful outdoor spaces.
