Cedar Crest

Cedar Crest is a suburban community located just south of downtown Dallas and a 20-minute drive from SMU. As an up-and-coming neighborhood, it is a notably diverse community rich in history, hosting notable landmarks including the Pan-African Connection Bookstore Art Gallery & Resource Center and Old City Park. In addition to the culture, it is known for its lively nightlife at the northern point of the neighborhood, where you can grab drinks and a bite to eat at a number of hip bars such as Lee Harvey’s, Poor David’s Pub, The Gallery Lounge, and Vetted Well.

For children and nature lovers, visit one of the many parks scattered throughout the area including Beckley-Saner Park and Bonnie View Park. Also, the Dallas Zoo is just a five-minute drive from the center of Cedar Crest, deeming it a popular weekend activity for families in the area. Or you may want to visit the beautiful Cedar Crest Golf Course, the site of the 1927 PGA Championship.
