Save Yourself the Trouble, Look Elsewhere
I’m sure this is a nice place to live for many people, but for me it has unfortunately been anything but. To begin with, the noise and heat insulation in the apartments are abysmal as evidenced by frequent sounds of maintenance in nearby units, and the ease with which I can listen into conversations occurring in the neighboring apartment. Moreover, I often wake up to or am interrupted by animals in the dog park below my unit barking morning noon and night, and their obnoxious owners literally screaming praise when they so much as pee in the right place (I wish I was joking, good job Romeo!). I never thought that being able to sleep in an hour on a Saturday or work at home for an afternoon without being interrupted by dogs and their owners was such a luxury. Why someone would let their dog bark almost uninterrupted for upwards of 30 minutes several times a week for over a year is beyond me.
Now all of this might be easier to deal with if management took any effective steps to resolve these issues, but they have not. Instead I have received passive aggressive emails, was ignored, and even blatantly lied to people who claim to be professionals. Its honestly almost impressive how long the laundry list of problems people complain about here go unfixed for months. I’ve literally been homeless before when I was a teenager and received kinder treatment from strangers than I have from the management team at Arrive. There are certainly some aspects of this building that are nice, most notably the amenities. I do have to say the door staff, maintenance and janitorial staff are all very lovely.
I guess what I mean by all of this is if you don’t really care whether or not the people who take half the money you make every month give a crap about you, then this is a great place to live! If not then steer clear and don’t make the same mistakes I have. Save yourself the trouble.
Arrive Streeterville
Great amenities and location; had AirPods case stolen in gym without security cameras on. No thermostat (just heat on or off)
Arrive Streeterville Review
Cheapest full amenity building in streeterville
Arrive Streeterville Convertible
Great apartment. Close to campus, gym, clean
Arrive
Not the most luxurious building but the gym is great and my unit is nice.
ReNew Chesapeake
My husband and I love ReNew Chesapeake. The complex is undergoing renovation, and so we are the first tenants living in the remodeled unit. The layout meets our needs, and all appliances are brand new. The community is very quiet, minus some minor traffic noises during peak traffic hours from a nearby road. There is ample parking in the lot. The location is superb - less than 15 minutes from school, around the corner from multiple grocery stores and virtually any fast food you could want, and quick access to I-64. This is the third apartment complex I’ve lived in as a Regent student and it’s my personal favorite.
Review
Great apartment
Avoid if you're a light sleeper
Pros:
- location is great for Penn students, convenient to travel to other parts of Philly by subway/trolley as well
- floorplan pretty nice and spacious
- maintenance responds quickly
Cons:
- Street noise is TERRIBLE. The windows are not soundproof at all, and you can hear street noise all night.
- AC is extremely loud and I can even feel the wall vibrating if I sit close to the AC.
Nice place to stay close to campus
Gated community safe and secure
Arrive University City Review
a pretty penny
Good Property, Mediocre Management
Title says it all.
Arrive University City Review
Basically good
Arrive on University
Just 1 mile from the campus and walkable when SMU shuttle is not available. SMU shuttle stop and DART train station are close by.
Central market, Tom Thumb and Kroger are < 1mile and easily walkable. The ceiling is higher compared to Village, so it feels roomy. Management is responsive for issues like plumbing, HVAC etc.
Closet space is good in one bedroom and less than adequate in the second.
Great and convenient
Friendly staff, amazing location and near so many things, safe and gated, clean and modern, perfect amount of space!
Arrive on University
Pros:
- Very quiet.
- Great location, including easy walk from campus.
- Free parking in gated lot.
- Proximity to stores such as Walmart, Sam's, Target, Kroger.
Cons:
- Relatively expensive rent.
- Outdated appliances that require sometimes hard-to-get maintenance.
